Chambers & Co has various practice groups, comprising of our Offshore Department, Shipping Department, Commercial Department, Corporate Department, International Trade Department, Banking Department and Intellectual Property Department. Each department is headed by a highly experienced member of the firm and staffed by experienced lawyers.
Our offshore department which deals exclusively with the formation and administration of offshore companies, not only in Cyprus but on an international level. The group is made up of a team of expert tax lawyers who provide advice on the best possible means of minimising taxation either for large corporate groups or private individuals.
Our shipping department, in addition to handling all issues relating to disputes arissing from carriage of goods by sea, charterparties, bill of ladings etc., undertakes all matters relating to the incorporation and management of shipping companies in Cyprus.
The commercial group which is actively involved in a range of commercial issues such as multijurisdictional joint ventures, agency agreements, international sale of goods, distribution and franchising agreements.
Our corporate group deals largely with private and public company contracts and regultaion. It undertakes issues of corporate insolvency and often works alongside our offshore department to provide tax planning advice and advice on inward investment.
International Trade Department
The international trade group is actively involved in international business transactions and handles work from a large international client base. The groups work involves knowledge of legal systems of various jurisdictions and in particular USA and England.
The banking group deals largely with syndicate loans, bonds, swaps and derivatives. It also provides day to day advice on banking regulatory matters and asset-backed financing mainly with regard to cross border transactions.
Intellectual Property Department
Our intellectual property group works alongside our information technology group and handles all issues relating to Trademarks, Patents, Industrial designs and computer software.
In addition to our 8 major international practice feilds Chambers & Co undertakes matters of local law.
